Rockstar Announces San Andreas Mercenaries Update for Grand Theft Auto Online

Rockstar Games has just released further details regarding their upcoming update for Grand Theft Auto Online, named "San Andreas Mercenaries." Slated for release on June 13th, this update will catapult players into an intense showdown against the corrupt Merryweather Security and other perilous adversaries. The narrative-driven update will span across the streets, seas, and skies of Southern San Andreas.
A Battle Against the Powerful
In a city notorious for its corrupt foundations, the Merryweather Security's questionable operations have reached a critical tipping point. There's word on the street about these unscrupulous contract killers scaling up operations, pushing out any rogue competition across Southern San Andreas. The expanding power and influence of this private military outfit could mark the end of the road for independent professionals in the criminal underworld - unless they fight back.
High-stakes Operations
The resistance against Merryweather is orchestrated by Charlie Reed, an ace pilot and expert aircraft mechanic. She is assembling an elite team of pilots and ex-military personnel, known as the Los Santos Angels. This outfit will undertake dangerous private work, including stealing sensitive data from server farms, conducting strategic raids, and delivering explosive payloads on high-value targets scattered across the state.
Under Charlie's guidance, the Los Santos Angels will transform the Mammoth Avenger into a high-tech aerial command center. This upgraded hub will boast a brand-new operations terminal and comprehensive weapons system upgrades. In addition to airborne missions, the Angels will also handle valuable contraband on the ground. Players can expect spontaneous opportunities to liberate cash and commodities from roving targets with lucrative bounties.
Upgrades and New Features
Both new and experienced smugglers will benefit from the range of upgrades introduced in the "San Andreas Mercenaries" update. Avenger and Hangar owners can now store and customize their Avenger from the Hangar. Moreover, players can now store and access their Avenger even without owning a Hangar or Facility property.
This action-packed update will also introduce several other features. A new Tactical SMG is designed for shooting while driving, and daily time trials will add an extra layer of challenge. New random events will keep the gameplay spontaneous and exciting.
Quality of Life Improvements
Rockstar Games is dedicated to continuously enhancing the player experience. Based on player feedback, the following improvements will be introduced:
- When calling Mors Mutual Insurance, players can now claim all destroyed vehicles at once.
- An alternate sprint control option (hold to sprint) will be added to the Settings Menu.
- Custom description tags for garages will help players quickly locate their favorite rides.
- The Willard Eudora and Albany Classique Broadway will become eligible for Taxi Work when using Taxi Liveries.
- Updates to the Creator will include additional props and weather options, including snow.
In addition to these, easy-to-access snacks right from the Weapon Wheel and the ability to launch sell missions in invite-only sessions are now available. These improvements are on top of the numerous enhancements made since the launch of GTA Online on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, which include ray-traced reflections, the introduction of the Career Builder, the roving Gun Van, a 50-car multi-floor garage, new License Plate Creator, Taxi Work, and much more.
